The actor, 48, took to Twitter and having been inspired by David Bridgman, Charlie shared two celebrities, one of which was the nicest he had ever met and the other less so.
Charlie took to Twitter and wrote: “Taking my cue from @BridgLondon, who’s the nicest celeb you’ve met? And who’s the nastiest?
“Nicest – Viggo Mortensen was the absolute best when I worked with him.
“Nastiest – someone I had to work with closely for a long time …..”
The post started a whole thread of replies guessing who Charlie was referring to, along with people sharing stories of their own.
Former Corrie star Vicky Entwistle, who played Janice Battersby on the soap, replied: “[Four laughing emojis] I know!!!! X”.
A number of Charlie’s followers and fellow Twitter users speculated that this was a Coronation Street cast member, with some posting images of his former on-screen romantic partner, Antony Cotton, who still plays Sean Tully on the soap.
Despite the speculation, Condou has not confirmed or denied who he was referring to.
There had previously been reports of bad blood between Condou and Cotton, with it being alleged that the former had been making digs at the latter for posting photos of his food on social media.
However, Condou denied he had been referring to Cotton with his remarks.
A source had told The Mirror of a feud in 2013: “There is a real divide throughout the cast and crew, with some people Team Condou and some Team Cotton. They are both very different people and simply rub each other up the wrong way.”
While ITV declined to comment on their off-set relationship at the time, they confirmed: “On set they have a great, professional relationship.”
Charlie went on to depart the soap in 2014, saying at the time: “I’ve had a fantastic time at Corrie but feel it’s time for me to move on. “
He continued: “I was only meant to return for three months and ended up staying for three years!
“The producers have been really supportive and are leaving the door open for Marcus which is great and my exit will certainly be explosive.”
The Mirror has reached out to representatives of Antony Cotton for comment.
*Coronation Street continues on Monday at 7.30pm on ITV.
