In the meantime, check out the things we want to see in the update here.

1.1 Update Release Date

The 1.1 Update is due to be released around, Saturday, 23 January.

This will be followed up by the 1.2 patch in February.

In a roadmap video released by CD Projekt Red on 13 January, it was stated that the next update, the 1.1 patch, will be released in around 10 days time.

Based on the gaps on the map, it will come quicker than the hotfixes were rolled out, potentially just days apart.

These two updates are said to “fix the most prominent problems” when it comes to the last-gen ports.

So, how did we get here?

For those who have been living under a rock for the last month or so – the Cyberpunk 2077 launch was a disaster.

Plagued by glitches, it’s perhaps the most troubled launch in gaming history.

If you fancy a feature-length recap – check out this epic video.

The 1.1 Update should be the first significant step into correct these issues.

File Size

With so many fixes expected, this will likely be a large update.

TIMELINE – Plenty of work has been done, and will continue to be implemented by the CD Projekt team

The 1.06 hotfix was 18GB, approximately 1/3 of the games total size, so this likely means that the 1.1 patch will be at least as big, if not larger.

What To Expect

Until the update is released we won’t get the patch notes from CD Projekt Red, once it goes live we will update with all of the fixes and changes.

But we do have a good idea of what to expect from the 1.1 update.

We can expect to see many glitches and crashes fixed, improving the overall stability of the game.

The last gen version of the game is the version with the most issues, so many issues that Sony removed it from their store.

So expect a heavy focus on improving stability and overall performance for the PS4/Xbox One version, with the hope of getting it put back on the PlayStation Store as soon as possible.

Future Updates

The next update, the 1.2 patch, is expected in early February, followed by numerous updates and DLC content over 2021 and 2022.

COMPARISON: Cyberpunk is often compared to The Witcher 3

People like to compare Cyberpunk 2077 to The Witcher 3, which is understandable because its CDPR’s previous title.

But many people forget that The Witcher 3 didn’t start out as the polished masterpiece it is now known as.

Between launch and the GOTY edition releasing, there were a total of 18 patches to the game.

So although Cyberpunk was a major disappointment at launch, by the end of 2022 it could too be a polished masterpiece.
