Gemma Collins has purchased her dream home.
The reality TV personality, 39, took to social media to share her accomplishment on Saturday night as she toasted the occasion with champagne that she had been gifted for achieving the milestone.
As Gemma shared her update with her Instagram followers she touched on the “tough couple of months” she has experienced due to her parents both having coronavirus.
Alongside a photo of her new set of keys, several cards bottles of fizz and a magnum of Whispering Angel rosé, the proud homeowner typed: “It’s been a very tough couple of months but some good news today to share I finally got my dream home and now have my keys #newchapter.
“I don’t have a clue how I’m going to style it yet but it’s going to be fabulous as soon as my dad is home from hospital and he sees it then my heart will be full and I can get cracking.”
Last September, Gemma lifted the lid on the property she was hoping to complete on and said she was planning a two-year renovation project to turn her new home into a sparkly pink palace with its own helipad and gem-encrusted bath tub.
The Collins clan have been having a tough time of late as Gemma’s dad, Alan, is currently in hospital following a positive coronavirus test.
He is now making a recovery but Gemma told that it has been a “scary time.”
Speaking on the latest episode of the Gemma Collins Podcast, the ITVbe star told: “It literally tears you apart.”
“Our house is not the same without my dad and it has been such a scary time because we just haven’t known how he was going to be. And if he was going to make it…
“There were moments where we all had to have the chat about you know what if dad doesn’t pull through.”
Gemma then updated fans on her dad’s progress and shared that they hope he can return home soon.
“I have had such a distressing time due to both my parents having Covid,” she shared.
“I finally got a call from the doctor to say that my dad has been keeping really stable and he is coming down off of his breathing mask.
“We are hoping to have him home with us next week.”
Reflecting on how the tough time has led to her reevaluating what is important in life, she added: “It is the simple things in life that meant the most to you.”
“No amount of money would have saved my dad. And when I was faced with the news of my dad you know might not make it in the hospital. It just really puts things into perspective.”
Just days before Christmas Gemma revealed that both her parents have coronavirus.
She said both Alan and her mum Joan were “extremely unwell” and her dad had told her that he’d “rather be dead” than fight the bug.
She told her followers: “Please please please take notice of the guidelines! Both my parents are extremely unwell with Covid 19!
“Seeing my dad cry which he never does! Was a shock and say he would rather be dead then experience everything his is going through right now… this has totally wiped him out and it’s heartbreaking my mum also is extremely extremely unwell with Covid also, this is real!
“And please please take notice and keep your loved ones SAFE it really is petrifying what a difference a year makes.”
