Masked Singers Sausage, Robin, Viking and Blob all dead certs as odds are slashed on identities – Chronicle Live

Bookmakers are so sure of the identities of four of the acts on this year’s Masked Singer that they have made them odds on favourites to be revealed.

The new series of the ITV show returned with its fourth episode on last weekend Blob in action against Harlequin, Bush Baby, Viking and Grandfather Clock, who ended up being unmasked as Glenn Hoddle after losing the sing-off to Viking.

And as, all eight acts appear together for the first time on Saturday night, bookies Betfair have slashed the odds on who both Blob and Viking are as well as other much talked about acts Sausage and Robin with Lenny Henry, Aha’s Morten Harket, Sheridan Smith and JLS star Aston Merrygold the celebs hotly tipped to be in the elaborate disguises.

Many Masked Singer fans think the clues for Blob are ‘obviously’ Lenny, including one on him playing a teacher on TV, which he did in Hope and Glory. Fans think Viking’ voice alone is a clear indication it’s Morten, while nods to both Two Pints of Lager and Legally Blonde the Musical point towards Sheridan and Aston is in the frame due to his distinctive vocals, as well as ‘starting his career’ as Michael Jackson, which he did by appearing on Stars in Their Eyes Kids.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Masked Singer fans seem more confident than ever of the identity of the wacky Blob, with Lenny Henry’s distinctive voice convincing viewers and punters alike – so much so that he is a short 1/2 favourite, the same price as Sheridan Smith is to be Sausage.

“Sleuths are also confident in Morten Harket at 5/6 and Aston Merrygold at 4/7 to be Viking and Robin – but it is Bush Baby, Drago and Badger, the odds-on favourite to win the whole show, who still has everyone foxed.”
