The Masked Singer UK unmasks fifth contestant – Digital Spy

Another big name was booted off The Masked Singer UK this evening (January 23).

Following previously unmasked contestants Martine McCutcheon, Mel B, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Glenn Hoddle, it was time for a fifth famous face to exit the stage for good, which means the competition is really heating up now.

Stepping out from beneath the Bush Baby costume, Cold Feet favourite John Thomson unveiled himself before the doting crowd.

“I can’t believe that!” yelled panellist Davina McCall, while her co-star Mo Gilligan added: “That was a good one man!”

Joking with presenter Joel Dommett in the aftermath, the 51-year-old said of his Bush Baby experience: “I have to say, as a Northerner who doesn’t feel the cold, and is already covered in hair… it’s not been the greatest.

“I’ve got to admit, there is a sense of relief this evening!”

Thomson also made reference to his stagecraft while hidden under the huge furry suit, laughing: “I’ll tell you something, at the end of this there’s a job for me at Disney!”
