He is once again one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors having split with girlfriend Ana de Armas.
But Ben Affleck is staying solo for the foreseeable with one pal joking that he has “made a vow of celibacy”.
The 48-year-old actor’s split from Knives Out star and Bond girl Ana, 32, emerged last week with reports claiming that she dumped him over the phone.
But sources say the pair are still friends and that Ben now wants to focus on himself and his children.
One said: “Ben’s friends want him to take a break from dating, work on himself and stop rushing into romances.
“He jumps head-first into these very intense relationships and gives them his all, but then they all implode as soon as the honeymoon’s over.
“Even Ben accepts he would be better off being single for a while.”
Before Ana, Ben was in a relationship with TV producer Lindsay Shookus, 40, for over a year and also dated model Shauna Sexton, 25, briefly in 2018.
Before that he was married for 13 years to Jennifer Garner, 48, and they have three kids, Violet, 14, Seraphina, 11 and Samuel, eight.
In the late 1990s Ben dated Gwyneth Paltrow, 48, for three years and was engaged to Jennifer Lopez, 51, after they met on the set of flop Gigli in 2002.
The source added: “He’s going to try the single life – unless there’s some miracle and Ana comes back asking for another chance.
“He is really focused on prioritising himself and his kids rather than relationships, and his friends have been joking about him taking an oath of celibacy.
“Whether or not he can stay single for long remains to be seen.”
Ben and No Time To Die star Ana hit it off while working on erotic thriller Deep Water in 2019.
They are expected to be reunited when they promote the film, due to be released in the summer.
Last week a cardboard cutout of the Cuban actress was binned outside Ben’s Los Angeles home – and on Friday his brother Casey denied being the mystery man pictured dumping it.
It was the same cutout Ben’s kids were seen playing around with while cheerfully bonding with Ana last summer.
