The Dancing On Ice studios have been hit by heavy snow and some of the stars are worried they’ll get stuck there.
ITV’s hit talent show is filmed at a purpose-built rink at the former RAF Bovingdon in Hertfortshire, and the site was hit by a blizzard which rolled in today.
Former contestant Gemma Collins, 39, is making a guest appearance on the show tonight and she filmed her journey into the studios as the weather worsened.
She was initially excited to see a few flake, but her excitement turned to anxiety as the roads leading up to the studio were blanketed in thick drifts.
Gemma told her followers she was worried about getting snowed in at the site if the snow continues to fall.
She said: “When I get out of the Dancing On Ice studios tonight, will I ever make it home? This is just unbelievable.”
Other stars of the show were making the most of the snow, with Joe-Warren Plant and his partner Vanessa Bauer having a snowball fight outside their dressing room.
Skater Hamish Gaman did some twirls in the snow, while Rebekah Vardy also stuck her head out of her dressing room to marvel at the weather.
The stars’ posts showed the drifts piling up outside the cabins which are used to house the stars backstage, and the roads into the site looked like they were getting snowed under.
Tonight’s live show will feature a group skate and special appearance by Gemma.
The Towie star set to make a dramatic entrance by being lowered on a trapeze while giant diamonds dangle above the ice.
A show source told The Sun on Sunday: “Gemma is part of the show’s family now and everyone’s really excited that she is coming back.
“The props department have gone all out with her sparkling trapeze hoop.
“She has a reputation of being a diva, but she’ll be on best behaviour and she will be on time.”
Dancing on Ice returns tonight, but the show will be without contestant Rufus Hound.
The Mirror exclusively revealed yesterday the comedian will miss at least two episodes after coming into contact with coronavirus.
He’s going to be isolating at home and forced to miss training as well as the live shows.
Rufus had been due to take part in tonight’s group dance while his individual skate was slated for next weekend.
