Refurbishing the bathroom is a big job and one that can set you back thousands of pounds.
But one mum who said she “hated” the bath panel in her home and always wanted to give it a re-design found a brilliant way to give the room a new lease of life without breaking the bank.
A picture of the bathroom beforehand shows a plain wooden panel encasing the bath, and the mum says she had “always wondered what to do with it.”
During a recent visit to Poundland, she stumbled across tile effect stickers for £1 each and decided to use them to cover up the panel she always wanted to get rid of.
It only took 15 of the stickers to get the job done, creating a tile effect on the side of the bath to match the newly painted walls.
Posting the DIY hack on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group Facebook page, she wrote: “I’ve hated my bath panel for ages and always wondered what to do with it, but never got around to anything.
“I was in Poundland earlier and saw these tile effect stickers. I bought 20 and only needed 15, they were very easy to put on too.
“It’s totally transformed my bathroom for £15! I already had the other things around the house and gave the bathroom a lick of paint using the leftover paint I had from painting the bathroom a few months ago. Very happy with my bath panel now.”
She added that the white ladder used to hold towels and its baskets were purchased from IKEA a couple of years ago.
The post racked up hundreds of comments as people were left impressed with the money-saving method, with one writing: “Oh wow!! Brilliant, I need to do this to my panel. Thank you.”
And another added: “OMG WOW… what a transformation. Something so simple to do has really changed the look hasn’t it. Very impressive, well done!!”
