The Masked Singer viewers stunned as Bush Baby finally unmasked – Daily Record

The Masked Singer viewers and judges were stunned as another celebrity was unveiled after a dramatic elimination tonight.

For the first time in the series, all eight contestants performed on the same night – with Dargon, Sausage, Viking, Blob, Harlequin, Bush Baby, Badger and Robin all performing their third songs.

Following an audience vote, the Dragon and Bush Baby went head-to-head in a sing off with the judges sending the latter home.

Guesses for Bush Baby were varied as Rita Ora guessed Jamie Oliver, Davina McCall guessed John Torode, and Johnathan Ross guessed Gino D’Campo.

When the mask came off, Bush Baby was unveiled as John Thompson, a comedian and actor.

John, 51, has starred on The Fast Show, Men Behaving Badly, Cold Feet and Coronation Street.

“I can’t believe it!’ said Davina.

But Jonathan exclaimed: “I said you early on! But it made sense because of the drumming, but then I realised some of the clues I should picked up on, because of course, Please Release Me, that was the theme from The Fast Show!

“I should have known that, but we weren’t thinking!

It comes as The Masked Singer fans are convinced they know who The Viking is on the show after some heavy clues were dropped on Saturday’s show.

The judges tried their hardest to figure out who was the famous face behind the mask, with guesses including Ben Adams from A1, who sang Take On Me, Games of Thrones actor Jerome Flynn, Pat Sharp, Lancy Armstrong and Rick Astley.

The Viking’s mysterious clues were: “My career has been one of billions, over a billion people have watched me do my thing.

“As a Viking, I rely on tool I was born with, and tools I can create, my sword for example, which was forged in the silver mines of my homeland.”

He also said: “As precious metals go, steel has proved useful in my career.”

Many fans guessed The Viking was Norwegian vocalist and musician Morten Harket, who sang on a-ha’s Take On Me.

Viewers took to Twitter to share their guesses, with many suggesting Morten but plenty of other famous faces in the mix.

One tweeted: “Still 100% #viking is Morten Harket. Sounds like him, Viking reference, boy band reference, Eurovision watched by millions and he has a Blue Peter badge. Cast in Steel was an A-ha studio album Too. #TheMaskedSingerUK “.

“So far Viking is Morten Harket, blob is Lenny Henry and sausage is Sheridan Smith. #TheMaskedSingerUK,” predicted another.

“Is Viking #TonyHadley? #TheMaskedSingerUK,” wondered another of the Spandau Ballet star.
