After a skate off no-one wanted to be in, the first couple have been voted out of Dancing on Ice 2021 with the judges making a unanimous decision to give a big name the axe.
Prior to Sunday night’s second live show we already knew that rapper Lady Leshurr would need to fight for her place in the competition, after finishing bottom of the public vote last week.
The second batch of skating stars made their debuts on the rink this weekend and, after the public had their say again, it was former Hear’Say member and radio host Myleene Klass who was put in danger along with her.
The two women, along with their professional partners, had one final chance to impress the judges, with Lady Leshurr and Brendyn Hatfield performing to Demi Lovato’s Confident before Myleene and Lucasz Rozycki aimed to stay in the show with a skate to Rebecca Ferguson’s Nothing’s Real But Love.
Judges Ashley Banjo, John Barrowman, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean all voted in favour of Lady Leshurr, with Myleene gracious in defeat as she praised Lucasz for helping her “learn a new skill in lockdown” and everyone involved in Dancing on Ice for making it happen this time around, when the odds were stacked against it due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Myleene was midway in the bookies for Dancing on Ice winner so, despite her being one of the most recogniseable stars in the new series, her early exit doesn’t come as too much of a shock.
One viewer reacted: “Well done Myleene. Go out with your head held high,” and another tweeted to say: “Well done Myleene. Go out with your head held high.”
The high scorers from Sunday night were former Coronation Street star Faye Brookes and her professional partner Hamish Gaman, who scored 31.5 out of 40.
Their stunning debut marked a triumphant return to Dancing on Ice for Hamish after his partner drama with Caprice last year.
