A BBC journalist has revealed how she was reduced to tears after the dating service advised her not to take out a membership with it.
Without actually refusing her membership, Matchmakers blamed their reluctance on the fact that “others are not always open” to dating someone with a disability.
The company’s email to Lucy Webster, which was posted by her on Twitter, provoked an outpouring of sympathy for her, as well as criticism of Matchmakers.
