The husband and wife duo were replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on Fridays at the beginning of the year, but they haven’t stayed away for too long.
Ruth, 60, and Eamonn, 61, will present the popular ITV show from Monday 15 until Friday 19 February.
This is due to the fact that regular hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby and Friday presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary get to enjoy a half-term break.
Eamonn and Ruth’s return was confirmed during an advert break in Wednesday’s edition of This Morning.
A trailer showing the married couple hosting the show played in a montage with a voiceover telling viewers about their anticipated return.
Eagle-eyed viewers spotted the advert and were quick to take to Twitter and share their excitement.
Fans of the show clearly miss them, as one person tweeted: “Eamonn and Ruth are back next week! Yay!”
A second person posted: “Yes! Ruth and Eamonn next week,” while a third added: “Yay Eamonn and Ruth are coming back next week.”
Eamonn and Ruth presented their last official Friday show on This Morning on December 18.
At the beginning of January, Alison Hammond, 46, and X Factor host Dermot O’Leary, 47, took over on Fridays.
At the time, a source claimed to The Sun: “Ruth and Eamonn are obviously upset and feel humiliated about being put out to pasture.
“But they’ve been advised to keep schtum or risk losing more work. It could damage their brand if they lash out.”
Following their final appearance as hosts on the show, Eamonn took to social media to express gratitude for the outpouring of support fans had sent to him and Ruth following their final Friday.
He said via Instagram video: “Hi everyone, just want to say something to you all from the bottom of my heart and that is thank you,” he began the video.
“Ruth and I have been overwhelmed yesterday and today by the amount of messages and we’ll be replying via social media, by emails, by texts, by WhatsApp, by whatever way we can.
“But can I just generally say thank you, thank you, thank you. We do feel the love, really appreciate it but stop it, stop it now.
“It’s Christmas time, Mistletoe and Wine. We’ve all got things to do so thank you, get on with your lives, we certainly intend to get on with ours and look, things are looking up.”
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV1.
